Latvian Floorball Union would like to inform you that after research of numbers of licensed floorball players during this season has reached a new record.

Compared with the previous 2009/2010 season the number of licensed players has increased slightly over 20%, to 2430 (last year - 1929) licensed players. 

During the time between the seasons promotional campaign was extended under which great emphasis was placed on the direct engagement of young people in this sport. After that new players joined to existing teams and the several new floorball teams was create. This season was starting with 103 youth teams in five age groups for boys and four age groups for girls. The number of youth players in this season reached 1559 (last year - 1131). Compared to the last season, youth till 18 years the number of competitors in tournaments organized by the Latvian Floorball Union increased by 27%. 

Latvian Floorball Union hopes that the continued promotion of floorball, will develop an interest in setting up a new team and attracting new players to existing teams, along with the licensed number of players will continue to grow.
