Last week at Valmiera and Koceni took place the European Floorball cup championship, where men and women teams from eight different countries were fighting for the first place.

As the president of the International Floorball Federation (IFF) Tomas Eriksson noted, the Latvian Floorball Union (LFU) had done an invaluable job in organizing this amazing and unforgettable event.

Thus the LFU could not have done this without all the help from the volunteers and supporters. That is why the Latvian Floorball Union is grateful for all the support from everyone who made the Euro cup championship 2010 possible.  The LFU gives its’ gratitude to the Valmiera city municipality and the city Mayor – Inesis Bokis, to  the Chairman of the Koceni County Council – Vitauts Stana, to every volunteer and team guide,  who maintained the connection between the teams and organizers, to the Vidzemes Olympic centre and the sports hall of Koceni, to the drivers, and to all of the sponsors who had helped to improve the event - SIA "Ripo autocentrs", SIA "Gutta", A/S "Laima", SIA "Valmiermuižas alus", CocaCola Company, the Valmiera city gallery “Valleta”, Hipolīzings, the Technical university of Riga, A/S "Inspecta", SIA "Ūpis" and SIA "FDT".  Many thanks to the Vidzemes Television, Radio Skonto, SportaCentrs.com, the National news agency “Leta” and SIA euroAWK for the  informational support.

The LFU gives its’ gratitude the International Floorball Federation for the trust given  in organizing the event, and assembling in Latvia the best floorball teams from Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Poland and Switzerland.

The LFU once again congratulates the winners of the championship and wishes them success in other tournaments, and also hopes to see them again in Latvia.
