Dear floorball players, friends, fans and guests!

 

Let me congratulate and welcome all of you as the best players of your countries, and in same time – as potential participants of forthcoming final tournament of World Floorball Championship!

 

This Qualification tournament is important not only for you, but also for us, because Latvia is always honoured to welcome guests, and what could be better, if you can savour not only Latvian hospitality, but also serious taste of competition.

 

In October, 2010, we were hosting in Valmiera and Koceni the final tournament of EuroFloorball Cup with 8 men’s teams and 8 women’s teams from different European countries, but one year ago Women’s World Championships Qualification tournament was played here, in Valmiera.

 

During this tournament we will have the opportunity to feel pleasant tension and rivalry that will conclude with dignifying at least the best two teams – to continue this competition at World Floorball Championship’s final tournament in Gothenburg, Sweden!

 

Although so far Latvia had an opportunity to look up to the great work of other associations, organizers of different high level European Cup tournaments and World Floorball Championships, we are glad to be able to organize so important floorball event in Latvia again. It is a great honour for us!

 

We have to admit, that development of floorball in Latvia is growing, wherewith we can be glad that in future floorball can obtain the real stable place within other sports, ensuring them a favorable competition. We are proud of the right to be a host of Men's World Championship 2016, and we welcome all of you to come to Riga in December, 2016.

 

On behalf of Latvian Floorball Union I would like to wish all players unforgettable moments, a successful days in Latvia, as well as strength and endurance during the tournament. For floorball fans – relentless support the thrilling games; for guests of Valmiera – a pleasant time here together with floorball, surrounded by Latvian winter!
